Anna Voshege
Coloratura Soprano

Anna Voshege is an Australian German coloratura soprano based in Vienna, Austria. Anna has a MA Sologesang (Auszeichnung) from the Musik und Kunst Universität Wien (Konservatorium Wien) 2014/2019. She completed a Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium under the tutelage of Brian Hansford and Rosamund Illing. She was selected to sing in master classes with a number of esteemed singers and conductors including Yvonne Kenny AM, Maestro Christian Badea and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.

She is the recipient of numerous awards including; First prize in the 2017 Richard Strauss Gesangswettbewerb in Munich, Germany, The Australian Music Events Opera Scholar of the Year, The Armstead Singing Award, The Manningham Aria and By the Bay Aria to name a few. She has also been a finalist in competitions such as the IFAC Australian Singing Competition where she performed with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Johannes Fritzsch, the 3MBS Young Performer of the Year, the Sedat Gurel Third International Voice Competition in Istanbul, Turkey, and the Nico Dostal Gesangswettbewerb in Vienna, Austria.

Anna has performed a variety of opera, operetta and music theatre roles including Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, Ugly step sister Griselda in the World Premiere of Wunderkind Alma Deutscher’s opera Cinderella with Oh!pera Wien, the title role in Franz von Suppé’s Die Schöne Galatheé, Guenevere in Lerner and Loewe’s Camelot, and Rhoda in William Finn’s A new Brain for which she received a Music Theatre Guild of Victoria commendation for best female performer in a supporting role.

 

Anna performed Eurydice in Offenbach's Orpheus in der Unterwelt as part of the Klang Bad Hall Festival in Stadtheater Bad Hall and has her debut as Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos with the Berlin Opera Academy. In 2018 she performed Erste Hexe / Dame in Dido and Aeneas with the Richard Strauss Festival, reprised the Queen of the Night for National Theater Oper und Ballet Tirana and performed Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier  for Melbourne Opera. In 2019 Anna performed her first Konstanze and she will debut the title role Semiramide in July 2020.
